Samsung syncmaster 2693 manual
Pros: Huge! Great contrast and very bright. Makes my laptop and 17" Samsung monitor this replaced look very dull and washed out. I am pretty amazed at the difference. The height and rotation adjustments are very fluid. Haven't tried the auto rotate software because it messed with the Omega drivers I am using.
Very sleek casing. Glossy black. Unlike the other reviewers I like that the button labels are very understated. Once you are done adjusting the settings you don't need the buttons anymore and it is nice that they are unobtrusive on the beautiful glossy frame. There aren't actual buttons, just a labeled part of the frame that you have to make contact with to get to the menus Overall the build quality is fantastic. As expected from Samsung. Cons: Took me a couple of days of occasional tweaking to really dial in the settings to make it look awesome.
The auto configure button always left me with something that I didn't like about the display. Speakers are pretty useless. They sound about the same as the ones in my laptop. It's a TN but one of the best ones I have seen. Overall Review: I was a little frustrated that it didn't look awesome right out of the box but with some minor tweaking of the settings I am completely satisfied and would definitely buy this one again.
Pros: Sexy piano black finish. Delivered next business day on standard shipping. Big screen! Almost fills your vision when eyeballs are 12" away; no head turning needed to see the whole screen when sitting at normal desktop distance - but your eyes will traverse more than when using a 22" or smaller screen. Much better than other leading brand displays I own.
Perfect for gaming and general office applications. I will buy another Samsung for the wife! Cons: None. Unlike some others reviewers, I like the electrostatic "buttons" - very sexy! There are some nice 24" displays in the four buck ballpark, but for another Benjamin you can get this 26" display maybe less by the time you're reading this. Sammy wins. Buy it now, you deserve it!
Very bright default settings. Yes, TN panels have some limits primarily viewing angle and color accuracy , but these aren't an issue for general desktop users. Viewing angle doesn't apply if you are sitting directly in front of the display with eyes level to the center-mass of the screen. TN displays trade speed in gaming against color accuracy.
The more expensive displays are often slower, something that is not acceptable for most gamers. Color accuracy isn't a problem for most Pros: Excellent value: great contrast, fast response time, no backlight bleeding, no ghosting on DVDs or when gaming i. Call of Duty 4. Just pickup yourself a good graphics card to go along with this monitor and you will be in nerd heaven.
Even your wife will be impressed by this monitor Cons: You haven't bought this yet. Also, they won't give it to you for free. Overall Review: Some people don't like this for it's panel and "lack of true color reproduction". Unless your a photo editor My worries were for dead pixels - my monitor had none. The stand is very adjustable; it's a snap to switch from a horizontal screen to a vertical screen just by rotating the display, along with the included software.
The built-in speakers aren't that great, but it's nice that you have a backup in case you're ever without other speakers. Since the monitor's native resolution is x, it would be nice to have the option of whether or not to stretch the picture to fill the extra horizontal lines, but not a huge issue. Built in speakers so-so, but that's not a big issue for me. Overall Review: Switched from a Westinghouse 24" to this. The quality of this monitor blows that of the Westinghouse out of the water.
Will never buy from WH again terrible support. Great job Samsung, excellent product. Sold by: Newegg Shipped by Newegg. When you buy through our links, we may get a commission. It boasts a pleasing aesthetic, good performance, especially for movies, in the warm preset, and includes degree rotation and degree pivoting. It's hampered by a flimsy-feeling stand, a bad lower viewing angle, and an overcalibrated "Cool" color-temperature setting.
Its closest competitor we've reviewed is the Viewsonic VAwm , which costs more for lower performance and fewer features. If that extra 1. The display's panel actually extends another 0. The glossy, black coating of the bezel is carried over to the footstand, which is 7. One of the standout design details we appreciate is that the footstand includes a lazy Susan-type swiveling mechanism that allows the screen to rotate degrees. The display is height-adjustable by about 3 inches, and the panel tilts back 30 degrees and pivots 90 degrees.
The neck of the stand is also a glossy black and includes a big, light gray Samsung logo on it that can be seen from the back. What we don't like about the neck is that the plastic feels very cheap.
The panel that attaches the neck to the screen is very flimsy, as well, and seems almost toy-like; the plastic feels hollow and fragile. It includes six different preset options that control the brightness and contrast and three other sets of presets that controls everything from color to image size. One of the presets is called Dynamic Contrast , but when choosing this setting we notice that the settings do not change dynamically depending on the content being displayed, as we would expect.
Rather they remain static no matter what content the LCD was displaying. There are no buttons for the OSD, as each function is built directly into the bezel, including the power button, which emits a blue LED light. Even with the blue light, we have a lot of trouble finding each function when calibrating the display in a dark room. Since there is no tactile feedback and the labels for each function are written very lightly, it quickly becomes a real headache.
This is also a problem if the display is running at a high brightness level, as the glare impedes the labels from being seen clearly. Features The The connection options--which include DVI, VGA, and HDMI--are nestled conveniently to the right in the back, so that the neck of the stand is not in the way when attempting to connect video.
The display includes the Customized Key feature. This allows you to set one of the OSD "buttons" as a one-press solution to changing the various presets of the display, from color to image size to several brightness and contrast settings. The Demo option allows you to preview settings by splitting the screen vertically between your current settings and settings that you've just changed to. The built-in speakers require an included audio cable and are hidden away on the bottom of the panel. We tested the display via DVI connection and saw accurate color reproduction depending on the color-temperature setting.
For example, while testing in the Cool color temperature it was able to show subtle differences in several shades of the color red, but it had trouble doing the same with the color blue. When watching Kill Bill Vol. Conversely, when we switched the temperature to warm, we did not see the same problems with blue, but did see them with red in DisplayMate.
